2015 DyeStat Illinois Relay Ratings – Boys SchoolsPublished by
Cahokia repeats as Boys Relay Champions

At the end of the IHSA State Meet, Cahokia Head Coach Leroy Milsap proclaimed that this 2015 team was his best team ever. The proof was in the results. Cahokia had won their fifth straight 2A team championship. In the process, Cahokia had broken 2 relay records while sweeping all four relays in the 2A meet. Milsap also said that this team was the best team in the state regardless of classification.
Their overall strength showed in the Relay Ratings. They repeated as the DyeStat Illinois Boys Overall Relay champions scoring 174 points. 3A State team champion Edwardsville was second to their area rival with 164 points. Barrington rounded out the top three scoring 158 points.
Besides Cahokia, there were three others schools among the first twenty but not among the first ten. Galesburg was the second 2A school (16th) followed by Chicago Phillips (19th tie) and Evergreen Park (19th tie).
The DyeStat Illinois Relay Rankings are based off of the DyeStat TFX leaderboards (as of June 21, 2015) for the four relays that are contested at the IHSA State Meet. In the All Class, 3A, and 2A categories, the top 50 quartets are ranked with 50 points given to the fastest school down to 1 point for the 50th fastest. In 1A, only the top 30 quartets are ranked with 30 points given to the fastest 1A school.

2015 – Cahokia – 174 points 2014 – Cahokia – 154 points 2013 – Minooka – 187 points
Class 3A
Edwardsville won the 3A Relay Championship scoring 171 ½ points. Barrington repeated their 2014 finish placing second only three points behind the Tigers with 168 points. Edwardsville had three relays that were among the seven fastest in each event. Their 3200 Relay was the fifteenth fastest in 3A. Barrington had their 400 Relay and 3200 Relay among the three fastest times in 3A.
Despite the fact that Evanston was among the top three teams in the 400, 800, and 1600 Relays, their absence among the 50 fastest in the 3200 Relay gave the Wildkits third place in 3A. East St. Louis-Senior and Oak Park-River Forest finished fourth and fifth.

Class 2A
Cahokia obliterated their completion during the 2015 season. It showed in the 2A rankings as they repeated for the third year. The Comanches scored a perfect 200 points as they were on top of all four relays. Galesburg, who were among the three fastest this year in the 400 and 800 Relays in 2A, finished a distant second with 163 points. Highland, whose highest ranking was seventh in the 3200 Relay, finished third with 155 points. Chatham-Glenwood and Rich Central finished fourth and fifth.

Class 1A
1A State Champion Tolono Unity easily were on top of the 1A Relay rankings having the fastest 1A times in three of the four relays contested. The Rockets scored 112 points finished 14 points ahead of St. Joseph-Ogden who scored 98 points. Area rival Shelbyville was two points behind in third place. Arcola, who had the fastest time in the 1600 Relay and had the second fastest in the 400 and 800 Relay but was not among the 30 fastest in the 3200 Relay, finished fourth.
